The Covid-19 epidemic and related logistical restrictions, regrettably, forced the cancellation of the planned Nekton Mission dives in the Indian Ocean.

The core Caladan team, all of whom were already onboard Pressure Drop, were able to continue their planned routing through the Indian Ocean. In an area to the west of the Seychelles, they were able to map, in unprecedented detail, the Amirante Trench. In some cases, the data collected refines previous estimates by as much as 1,000 m.
